The union will be accepting nominations for the position starting September 5, 2021 at the start of the Permanent Session of the Convention.

The Role: Central Secretary-Treasurer (CST)
The Term of Office: 1 year upon election at the annual referendum
Start Date: January 1, 2022
The Requirements:
- Member of the union for at least 2 years, having consistently paid your dues without falling into bad standing for that time period
- Member of the union’s General Defence Committee for at least 1 year
- Legally entitled to work in the United States, Canada, or Mexico

The Main Responsibilities:

- Working under the direction of the General Defence Steering Committee & the General Executive Board, the CST is responsible for:
- Acting as custodian of the General Defence Committee Central, managing the administration and finances
- Managing the Defence Fund
- Preparing, signing, and distributing charters issued by the Steering Committee
- Processing reports
- Ensuring the membership database is updated and maintains status changes
- Process and track payments and spending, ensuring that all financial transactions are documented and reported in accordance with accepted accounting principles
- Ensuring that financial obligations are met in a timely and professional manner, and managing the bank account
- Managing accounting, financial documents, and governance documents
- Ensuring safe-keeping of financial records and other legally required paperwork
- Corresponding with members, vendors, service providers, staff, and elected officials
- Responding to requests for information from members of the Steering Committee, the General Executive Board, other elected union officers, and general members
- Reporting to the Steering Committee, General Executive Board and the membership regarding financial and other affairs related to the role
- Participating at GDC & IWW Conventions, Meetings of the General Executive Board, and other forums as required.

- Supervised by the Steering Committee

- Start of the Permanent Session of the General Convention (Approximately: 5 September 2021 @ 10AM EST)
Nomination Period Closes:
- End of the General Convention (Approximately 5 September 2021 @ 5pm)
